Great basket! Holds at least 2 cups of rice, maybe 3. Bottom is solid; you tip it to let water drain out of the small perforations opposite the side with a lip, so you can keep a good grip on it. The holes are nice and small. No worrying about any rice grains slipping through. I can think of plenty of other things you can rinse with it, veggies as well as grains like quinoa, etc. I like the oval shape. Much easier to manage than a round sieve, and it holds more than even a large sieve. (Which is what I had been using.) it's good, solid plastic, not too rigid, and easy to wash.

I loved it!! It's totally useful for washing rice, fruits, vegetables, and beans, as the water drains through the small holes and you don't lose the products you're washing inside. It's also a very good, sturdy strainer that doesn't bend or deform. This is the second one I've bought, and this one is for my mom. 100% recommended.

For some reason, the water does not drain as easily or as fast as what i would expect. Perhaps the holes are a little.small? Still it does work for a multitude of applications.

Just like the description. The one i received had a "dent" in the bottom of the 'bowl' that i had to bend back out. It is a little stress point now, but it doesn't affect how it works and i don't expect - since i only use it for washing rice - that the stressed portion will be of concern.
